Expression of Interest are invited for Comoros Country Environmental Analysis The objective of this assignment is to support the World Bank with the preparation of the first Country Environmental Analysis (CEA) for Comoros and related engagement and dissemination material and activities. The CEA is one of the World Banks country-level diagnostic tools. It is designed to close the gap in a country between environmental sustainability and economic development. It is a tool that can be used to manage natural resources to deliver improvements for livelihoods, reducing poverty and building climate change resilience. The CEA provides a critical review of the natural resource challenges at national and county levels. It assesses and identifies the institutional capacity gaps for environmental and natural resource management, and it explores the costs of environmental degradation providing the basis for policy dialogue on the economic and social costs of non-action. Importantly, it offers potential solutions to address these natural resource challenges. The analysis and policy recommendations in the report will help the government prioritize and address the countrys most critical environmental management challenges. It will also help define the scope and direction of donor support to strengthen environmental management and inform and coordinate the activities of civil society and other development partners.
